Microsoft 365 Business Premium Managed by KES
Give your users the Microsoft 365 tools they need to work productively, backed by stronger identity protection, device management and ongoing support from KES.
Microsoft 365 Should Be Managed, Not Just Licensed
Microsoft 365 Business Premium brings together business email, desktop applications, collaboration tools, identity protection and device management in one subscription. But the licence alone does not configure, monitor or maintain those services for you.
As part of the KES Business User Pack, Microsoft 365 Business Premium is configured and managed around the needs of your business. We help make sure users have the right access, devices are controlled properly, important security settings are applied and day-to-day administration is handled consistently.
Productivity, Collaboration and Security in One Platform
Business Email and Outlook
Professional business email through Exchange Online, with Outlook for email, calendars, contacts and day-to-day communication.
Desktop Microsoft 365 Apps
Access to the desktop, web and mobile versions of applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Microsoft Teams
Chat, meetings, calls and collaboration tools that help users work together from the office, home or while travelling.
OneDrive
Personal cloud storage for business files, helping users access and work with their documents securely across approved devices.
SharePoint
Shared company files, team sites and business information held in a structured Microsoft 365 environment.
Microsoft 365 Administration
KES manages routine user administration, licensing, access changes and the standard configuration required to keep Microsoft 365 operating effectively.
Business Standard Provides the Apps. Business Premium Adds Control.
Microsoft 365 Business Standard provides many of the familiar productivity tools businesses use each day. Business Premium builds on those tools by adding stronger identity, security and device-management capabilities.
That makes it the standard Microsoft licence within the KES Business User Pack. It gives us the technical controls needed to manage users and computers more consistently rather than relying only on passwords, antivirus and manual setup.
Business Premium adds capabilities such as:
- Microsoft Intune device management
- Microsoft Entra ID identity and access controls
- Conditional Access capabilities
- Microsoft Defender security features
- Protection for company data on managed devices
- Improved control over users, applications and access

Designed Around the User and Their Computers
Each standard Business User Pack includes Microsoft 365 Business Premium for one named user and management for up to two computers assigned to that person.
Main Computer
The user’s normal desktop or laptop is enrolled, protected, monitored and configured for access to their Microsoft 365 services.
Second Computer Where Required
A second desktop or laptop used by the same person can also be included where their role genuinely requires another device.
Mobile phones and tablets are not included as standard managed endpoints, although they can be enrolled into Microsoft Intune under an agreed management scope.
Microsoft 365 Works Better When the Rest of the Environment Is Managed Too
Within the Business User Pack, Microsoft 365 Business Premium is supported by additional layers of protection and management.

Learn more →Business Premium Is the Standard, but Not Every User Is Identical
Microsoft 365 Business Premium is the standard licence included with the Business User Pack because it provides the productivity, identity and device-management capabilities needed to deliver the complete service.
Where a user has a genuinely different requirement, an alternative Microsoft licence may be considered. Any exception is reviewed and approved individually so that reducing the licence does not remove security or management capabilities the user still needs.

Microsoft 365 Business Premium FAQs
Is Microsoft 365 Business Premium included in the Business User Pack?
Yes. Microsoft 365 Business Premium is the standard Microsoft licence included for each named Business User Pack user, unless an alternative is individually approved.
What is the difference between Business Standard and Business Premium?
Business Standard provides business email, Microsoft 365 applications and collaboration tools. Business Premium adds enhanced identity, device-management and security capabilities, including Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra ID features.
Can we use our existing Microsoft 365 tenant?
Yes. KES will normally review and manage your existing Microsoft 365 tenant rather than creating a new one unnecessarily.
Can users have Microsoft 365 on more than one computer?
The Business User Pack includes management and protection for up to two computers assigned to the same named user. Microsoft licensing rights remain subject to Microsoft’s applicable terms.
Are mobile phones and tablets included?
They are not included as standard managed endpoints, but they can be enrolled into Microsoft Intune where required under an agreed scope.
Do you back up Microsoft 365?
Yes. Independent Microsoft 365 backup is included within the Business User Pack for supported Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams data.
Can we downgrade a user to Business Standard?
An alternative licence can be approved where appropriate, but we first assess whether the user would lose security, identity or device-management features that are required for their role.
Microsoft currently describes Business Premium as combining business email, desktop applications, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint with advanced identity, device and cyberthreat protection, including Intune and Entra ID capabilities.
